Your class writes the story. We bring it to life.
A creative storytelling project for primary schools: your pupils invent the characters and the plot, and we turn their ideas into an animated story and a playable game.
How it works
From a class idea to an assembly premiere
-
The class invents it
Pupils create the characters, the setting and the problem, through drawing, talking and writing.
-
We shape it with them
We turn their ideas into a script with a clear beginning, middle and end, and check the big choices with the class.
-
We animate it
We add voices (pupils can record lines), music and animation.
-
They watch and play it
A premiere in assembly, a game with maths and spelling built in, and something to share with families.
The curriculum
Where it fits in the curriculum
-
English
Planning and writing narratives, creating characters and settings, and speaking and listening.
-
Maths
Times tables practice (great before the Year 4 multiplication tables check), number and problem solving in the games.
-
Art and design
Drawing characters for a real audience, and seeing them brought to life.
-
Computing and media
How an idea becomes an animation and a game, step by step.
Safe by design
- No adverts and nothing that plays on its own.
- Pupils appear only as their drawings and characters, never their faces, unless the school asks.
- First names only, and only with permission.
- Nothing is shared publicly without the school's say-so.
Raising funds for your school
Families love having a copy of their class's story. Ask us how a class story or game can help raise funds for your school.
Questions teachers ask
What ages is it for?
It works with any primary class. The stories suit children aged 4 to 11, and the games are best for ages 8 to 10 today.
How much class time does it take?
As much or as little as you like. A class can invent a story in a single lesson, or build it over a few weeks of writing and art.
Do you need photos of the children?
No. Pupils appear as the characters they draw. We never need photos of children.
Is the finished story public?
Only if the school wants it to be. By default, it's shared privately with the school and families.
